Jason Wingard, PhD

Adjunct Professor of Management

Dr. Wingard is currently Vice Dean of Executive Education and Adjunct Professor of Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In this role, he is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the executive education division which is committed to best-in-class executive development for global organizations and senior leaders. He also serves as Senior Fellow of the Wharton Sports Business Initiative.

Dr. Wingard serves as a global thought leader and practitioner in results-based organizational development. He has supported and led large-scale change initiatives for Fortune 500 organizations specializing in client management, product development and distribution, and professional services. He has accumulated extensive experience, across sectors, in applications related to the strategic planning, marketing, cultural transformation, and operational management of multi-platform training and development offerings.

As a strategic management executive, Dr. Wingard previously served as Senior Vice President of Regional Markets at ePals, Inc. and President and CEO of the ePals Foundation. ePals, Inc. is the world's leading provider of school-safe collaborative learning products, and the ePals Foundation is a non-profit operating foundation providing best-in-class educational solutions for underserved children, families, and communities around the world. Both organizations focus on social networking applications that increase literacy skills, critical thinking competencies, and cultural awareness models. At Silicon Graphics, Inc., Dr. Wingard served as Manager of Global Education where was responsible for overseeing the development of strategic product solutions for the multi-sector adult education market. And, at the Vanguard Group, he served as Senior Consultant of Alternative Learning and Technology where he provided advisory services for the development of a firm-wide strategy for a comprehensive corporate university.

As a professional development executive, Dr. Wingard has also previously served as Executive Director of the Stanford Educational Leadership Institute at Stanford University. At Stanford, he was responsible for the overall leadership of the multi-disciplinary Institute which provides classroom and field-based executive development consulting services to non-profit executives nationwide. Prior to Stanford, Dr. Wingard served as Senior Director of Executive Education at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania where he designed, developed, and delivered customized leadership development solutions and online training modules for senior executives for organizations including Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, IBM, Coca-Cola, JPMorgan Chase, the World Bank, and the National Football League (NFL).

As a public servant, Dr. Wingard currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Fathering, Zoeza Institute (Chair), and White Williams Scholars. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia and Vicinity.

Dr. Wingard holds a BA in Sociology, with honors, from Stanford University; a MA in Education from Emory University; a MA in Technology in Education from Harvard University; and a PhD in Education, Culture, & Society from the University of Pennsylvania with a dissertation entitled "Corporate Education and New Information Technologies: Executive Perceptions of Implementation Barriers."

Dr. Wingard enjoys mountain biking and listening to classic and modern jazz music. He lives with his wife and children in Chestnut Hill, PA.
