Executive Program in Work-Based Learning Leadership
Why a Degree is Important

Institutions of higher learning play a significant role in codifying professions and furthering research. Penn believes that the profession of learning leader has come of age.

Two work-related learning trends have emerged:

  • The emergence of corporate universities and the effort to coordinate and leverage learning as a strategic, organizational effort is increasing.
  • The idea of a dean of a corporate university or a chief learning officer (CLO) — and all that it connotes, such as access to the executive committee and board — has resonated within many organizations.

To further the legitimacy of the profession, Penn has developed this collaborative program with two of its leading schools — the Wharton School (Wharton) and the Graduate School of Education (GSE).
