Focus On: Finance and Accounting

Business runs on finance. No matter what your background, you need to understand finance and accounting to make decisions or request resources. With one of the leading finance departments in the world, the Wharton School has given thousands of managers critical tools and insights in finance and accounting — from understanding first principles to developing high-level financial strategy. In this issue, faculty examine a few fundamental concepts and explore why this may be the best time for corporate M&A activity. We highlight a program that is helping families manage their wealth more effectively. We also review a book for growing and managing wealth. Finally, we offer a number of upcoming programs that can help to build your own financial acumen.
