WPWP is no longer accepting applications for the certificate programs. The following information is intended for students currently enrolled in a WPWP certificate. Those interested in enrolling in our WPWP Courses, please visit our page for prospective students.
All students are expected to complete the required course work for their certificates by the end of the Spring 2013 semester. No WPWP courses will be offered after the Spring 2013 term. Courses from outside WPWP will not be accepted as replacement course for certificate requirements The final certificates will be conferred to enrolled certificate students in May 2013.
Students are advised to utilize the course schedules to schedule classes accordingly. All classes are held in the evenings in Wharton’s state-of-the-art educational complex, Jon M. Huntsman Hall, located on the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia. During the fall and spring semesters, classes meet one evening per week, and participants may take one or two courses. In the summer sessions (I and II), classes meet two evenings per week, and participants may enroll in one class per session.
- Business Essentials Certificate Program (six courses) — Develops key skills in accounting, corporate finance, human resource management, marketing, business policy, and general management. Students gain the business knowledge and specialized skills needed to expand their career choices.
- Entrepreneurship Certificate Program (six courses) — Helps individuals who are creating or building new businesses learn the essentials of business and venture initiation. Especially appropriate for leaders who own and run small- to medium-sized businesses.
- Finance and Accounting Certificate Program (four courses) — Provides the fundamentals of financial management for working professionals who do not have a background in finance and accounting. Also appropriate for refreshing or updating previously acquired F&A knowledge in the rigorous professional environment of Wharton.
- Human Resource Management Certificate Program (four courses) — Covers organizational dynamics, negotiation, strategic implementation, and other fundamental areas of HR management.
- Marketing Certificate Program (four courses) — Develops a practical understanding of marketing and consumer behavior, as well as marketing research and strategy.
