In his research, Professor Kessler uses a combination of laboratory and field experiments to answer questions in behavioral economics, public economics, labor economics, and market design. He investigates the economic and psychological forces that motivate individuals inside and outside of firms, with applications including job choice, worker effort, organ donation, and charitable giving. His research also explores racial and gender biases in labor-market environments and gender differences in labor-market behavior. Professor Kessler's research has appeared in a wide range of top academic journals and been covered by media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. Professor Kessler received a BA in Economics from Harvard University, an MPhil in Economics from Cambridge University, and a PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University.
