Primary Goals of the Wealth Management Initiative

- Provide educational programming in all aspects of wealth management for advisors and fiduciaries, investors and families, policy makers, and alumni.
- Support Wharton’s mission and brand goals of commitment to broad expertise, innovation, deep engagement with business and policy makers, and global outreach.
- Author, collect, and disseminate research within the wealth management discipline at Wharton and across the University of Pennsylvania.
Mapping out new dimensions in wealth management
Wealth management is assuming significant new dimensions as the distribution and dynamics of asset ownership change. Global demographic shifts and current economic events have re-centered the critical question of how accumulated wealth serves both investors and the public good.
Addressing Capital Management in Today's Complex Market
As markets have grown in depth, breadth and complexity, there needs to be increased focus on how owners of capital and their agents manage that as markets have grown in depth, breadth, and complexity. While some argue that growth and sophistication in this area have resulted in the betterment of all, others argue that the net effect is to the general detriment of investors, particularly in light of recent financial crises.
