Wharton Accommodations

All open-enrollment programs for individuals and most programs for organizations include hotel accommodations. If accommodations are included, Wharton Executive Education will handle all your arrangements. Most participants are housed at the Steinberg Conference Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Nearby hotels are also utilized. The Steinberg Conference Center is a professional learning facility. We regret that we are unable to accommodate family members. If you plan to bring a guest along to the program, we would be happy to provide you with a list of nearby hotels.

Program tuition is inclusive of all program materials, meals and accommodations for most programs. Tuition is not discounted for participants choosing to make separate accommodation arrangements. If you are an individual participant in an open-enrollment program, you will receive accommodation information with your pre-program materials.

Check-in is after 3:00 p.m. the day before your program starts unless you are told otherwise. Please refer to the letter from your program coordinator and call your coordinator if you need an earlier check-in.

You must check out before the beginning of class on the last day of your program.

Participants in the Steinberg Conference Center have all the amenities of a hotel, such as private bath, linens, color television, hair dryer, radio alarm clock, and daily housekeeping services. Laundry services are available for a fee. There is same-day service if dropped off at the front desk by 8:00 a.m.

For accommodations before or after a program, we suggest one of the hotels near campus in the University City area or in Center City, Philadelphia. A complete list of hotels is available through the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Corporation. The staff at the Steinberg Conference Center can also assist you if you have any additional questions after arrival.

Meals During Your Stay

All meals, unless otherwise noted in your correspondence, will be served in the Steinberg Conference Center. Open-enrollment programs include all meals for the duration of the program. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style, while dinners are served either buffet or à la carte. Beer and wine are available with dinner. Please contact your program coordinator if you have any special dietary needs, and he or she will communicate this to our Executive Chef.

Typical Schedule

The specifics vary from program to program, but typically, our five-day programs begin Monday morning and end just prior to lunch on Friday, with lunch included at the participant’s option. The schedules for programs shorter than one week vary, so it is hard to generalize the start and finish times. During the program, most days run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with evening work frequently assigned. Some programs also have scheduled evening sessions. You will receive a detailed schedule about two to three weeks before the start of your program.

Pre-program Materials

You will receive pre-reading materials and instructions about three weeks prior to the start of the program. Most pre-course work is delivered online via a secure website.

Dress Code

The dress code for class and all meals is business casual. Depending on the program you attend, your program coordinator will inform you in advance if any special dress is required.

Over the course of the program, you will accumulate a significant amount of material. We offer the option of shipping materials to your office upon completion of the program. If your company has an account with a carrier (Federal Express, DHL, UPS, etc.) please bring the account number or two preprinted airbills, and the shipment will be billed directly to your company. Without an account, you will need to provide a credit card account number to which the shipment can be charged. You or your company will be responsible for all shipping charges, duties, and taxes.

Guests should be prepared to use different methods of payment. Steinberg Conference Center can provide change for participants and cash checks. The facility houses an on-site ATM on the 1st floor. For all other money exchanges, you can visit:
