A Learning and Living Community

During the Advanced Management Program — India, you will join a dynamic cohort of highly experienced senior leaders from India, representing a wide range of sectors, industries, and companies. Together, in a setting designed to foster collaboration and connection, you will explore the latest research and best practices across multiple business disciplines, discussing challenges and trends with Wharton’s world-renowned expert faculty, CEOs, and global business practitioners.

Unlike similar programs, there are no elective sessions in the Advanced Management Program — India. Participants come to the program ready for an active experience and a high level of engagement inside and outside the classroom. You will share your current leadership challenges, and put your knowledge and skills to the test in field experiences designed to engage and educate. The connections you forge will become a lifelong personal and professional network, continuing the program experience into the future.

Wharton’s whole-person approach also includes addressing the community, social, and physical aspects of senior leadership. You will work in a small group on projects that tap your collective business acumen, expertise, and connections. You will experience executive mindfulness sessions and, while in Philadelphia, enjoy time off-campus in outings in one of America’s most historic, yet cosmopolitan, cities.

Learning Enhanced through Executive Coaching and Faculty Networking

Your experience will be enhanced through individual coaching sessions that begin before the program and extend beyond the close. Coaching not only supports your learning during the fast-paced program but also helps the transition back to your workplace. It provides an intentional opportunity to take a step back for reflection, an incredibly valuable learning habit many senior executives don’t take the time to do. Because of the positive impact of coaching, many AMP participants choose to retain their coach for months or years after the official sessions end.

Small group coaching is also a part of the Advanced Management Program — India. You will receive real-time feedback throughout the program as you share your goals and current challenges with your group. During experiential learning sessions, you will experiment with stretch goals and have the opportunity to practice new behaviors during the program. Your group provides support for its members, and the issues you choose to work on help influence your experience throughout the program.

Faculty continuity and networking is another area in which Wharton’s Advanced Management Program — India is in a class of its own. You will spend at least six hours a day with Wharton faculty. The program’s lead instructors become part of your network, providing important feedback and advice during the program and throughout your career.

Who Should Attend

The Advanced Management Program — India is designed for senior-level executives who have at least 20 years of management experience and are within two reporting relationships of the C-suite or executive committee in their organizations. AMP attracts executives who are presidents, chief executive officers, heads of major business units, and members of executive committees and operating divisions. Participants  also frequently include senior-level managers who work in the realms of government, nonprofits, and NGOs.

Specifically, this program is ideal for executives who:

  • Have been identified as central to the company’s succession plan
  • Currently hold C-suite level positions at organizations poised to experience significant growth
  • Want to build leadership agility and influence to lead effectively in a world of uncertainty and complexity

A Note from the Admissions Committee

The Admissions Committee may require that the AMP Candidate Nomination Form be completed before making a decision on your application. This form must be completed by your CEO, division president, or other nominator who can attest to your professional achievements and provide additional information about your career goals.
