Thought Leadership and Solutions

We have partnered with a range of world-class companies and organizations to create transformative executive education experiences. Resulting programs leverage the vast resources, such as the research centers of the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania, to showcase powerful thought leadership, and provide solutions that can be implemented immediately.

Below is an example of a custom executive education solution:

SCG Cement

SCG Cement Co., Ltd., one of the largest cement exporters in the world, has partnered with Wharton Executive Education for more than 20 years to deliver an executive education program that builds strong business-management skills, provides a global perspective, and prepares high-potential leaders for general-management roles.

The six-month multi-module program, delivered in Thailand, was designed for cohorts of 40 high-potential middle managers who represent all lines of business and geographies. Three key themes — learning, execution, and value creation — are emphasized throughout. A highlight is the team-based action learning project that generates innovative solutions to organizational challenges.

SCG saw substantial business impact from its executive education program. At least eight new business projects were designed and managed each year by participants, and additional innovative new projects received funding and were incorporated into an SCG business unit. The program has also strengthened its talent pipeline; succession planning is far easier now that SCG has a like-minded group of strategic leaders in the talent pool.

Client Perspective

Wharton provided a really structured approach to determining what our customers most value and what our key differentiators are, with a way for us to map that out and see where we fit in the market compared to the competition. My company had Professor Nicolaj Siggelkow do a session with our executive team. We mapped out our strategy, which was immediately translated into decisions on how we approached certain accounts and determined our pricing and sales strategy.”

Jason Dabrow Chief Operating Officer, Chelten House Products Inc.
